With the winter weather upon us, and the rising costs of home heating, we remind you that Pennsylvania Home Heating Fuel Assistance Rebate Program (LIHEAP) is now in progress. It is important for everyone interested to apply now. The Fuel Assistance Program is available to people of all ages within the income guidelines. For example, you will qualify if your monthly income is less than $1,047 for one person or $1,405 for two-person household. To receive an application or for additional information, call United PolAm Social Services at 215-923-1900 Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 4 PM. A staff worker will explain the eligibility requirements, answer your questions and assist you in completing an application. This is an annual grant provided to all who qualify and the grant does not have to be repaid. Philadelphia Senior Citizen residents are reminded that they can apply for the 25% water and sewer discount program.

To qualify you or your spouse must be 65 years of age or older, and have an annual household income of less than $24,400, or approximately $2,033 per month.

Those who qualify will receive a 25% discount on every monthly water bill. There are many people still eligible who have not applied.

Call PolAm Social Services and a staff member will be happy to answer your questions and help you fill out an application so that you can take advantage of this 25% discount program.
